Article 28(1) of the AML Regulations (Single Rulebook) mandates the Authority for Anti-Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism (AMLA) to develop draft Regulatory Technical Standards specifying, among others, the requirements and information to be collected for standard customer due diligence, simplified due diligence (SDD) and enhanced due diligence (EDD) purposes.
In preparing this final report, AMLA sought and considered input from national supervisors across both financial and non-financial sectors, AMLA also liaised closely with private sector representatives and further enhanced the final report by considering the responses provided by respondents collected through the public consultation conducted between 9 February and 8 May 2026.
The draft RTS outlined in this final report contains proportionate, risk-based CDD measures that contribute to harmonising the way AML/CFT requirements are applied in the Union. The provisions are flexible enough to ensure applicability across the range of products and services offered by obliged entities in both the financial and non-financial sector. These draft RTS support simplification efforts and enable obliged entities to determine the most effective and proportionate measures to be applied.
